ARBRMW : Chapter 100

Thank you for the support ! ?

Chen Xu’s studio finally got on track, allowing him to take a break. He originally planned to spend a sweet weekend with Si Ye, but unexpectedly, Chen Yue suddenly showed up. He came to ask Chen Xu for money, threatening to expose him if he didn’t pay up.

“Sorry, I can’t see you off,” Chen Xu didn’t even give him a glance, stepping forward to leave.

“Chen Xu! You’re nothing but a wild child who doesn’t know where you came from. Our family has taken care of you all these years, and this is how you repay us?!” Chen Yue shouted madly, rushing forward to block Chen Xu, his face twisted with rage.

Chen Xu noticed something off about his emotions. “The one who treated me well was Grandpa. You and your family just used me to the fullest.”

“We never shorted you on food and drink all these years. You’re the one who’s insatiable,” Chen Yue said righteously, as if saying it loud enough would make it true.

“I don’t want to repeat myself. You took Grandpa’s benefits, but whether you fulfilled your promises, you know in your heart,” Chen Xu didn’t want to waste time with him and quickly walked into the house. The security immediately stopped Chen Yue from entering Si’s house.

As soon as Chen Xu entered the house, he made a call to investigate Chen Yue. By dinner time, he received a report saying that Chen Yue had recently been addicted to gambling, losing all the family’s property. Wang Qiang had been tricked into a pyramid scheme to get money, and Chen Hao had disappeared after stealing Wang Qiang’s jewelry and bags.

Chen Yue was left alone with Chen Yuqi.

Because Chen Xu ignored Chen Yue and he couldn’t find a way to bother Chen Xu, he sold Chen Yuqi out of desperation. After getting a sum of money, Chen Yue didn’t choose to pay off debts but tried to use it to make a comeback, only to lose it all again.

“Tsk…” Chen Xu frowned in annoyance upon hearing this news.

He didn’t go personally but sent someone to the casino to redeem Chen Yuqi. Despite disliking her, she was still his grandfather’s granddaughter, and at such a young age, her life shouldn’t be ruined.

The casino staff, seeing that it was Si Ye’s people, didn’t make a fuss and released her after taking the money.

Although Chen Yuqi had only been at the casino for two days, it was enough to scare her to death. When she saw Chen Xu, she was trembling all over, completely forgetting how she had targeted him before. She clutched his sleeve, tears streaming down her face, “Second brother…”

Chen Xu waited for her to cry for a while before saying, “I’ve arranged a place for you to stay. You’ll live there from now on. Just focus on getting into college.”

Chen Yuqi saw him as her lifeline now. “Can’t I stay here?”

Seeing the big house, she thought a room could be spared for her without needing separate arrangements.

Chen Xu gave her a cold look, “No.”

“You should know that we have no blood relation. I saved you from the casino not out of any sibling affection. You know well that we don’t have such a thing. I’m doing this for Grandpa’s sake. You better listen and study well. If you get into college, I’ll support you until you graduate and find a job. If you can’t get into college, you’ll have to work on your own.”

Chen Yuqi’s heart sank. She had thought Chen Xu would overlook past grievances and support her indefinitely, but his words poured cold water on her hopes.

“The place I’ve arranged for you includes a nanny. You don’t have to worry about food or lodging, just focus on your studies.”

His words were meant to reassure her but also served as a warning: everything is arranged for you, so just study. If you still can’t get into college, don’t blame him for being harsh.

“I… I understand,” Chen Yuqi didn’t dare defy Chen Xu. If he got angry and sent her back to the casino, where they talked about auctioning her, she would be scared to death.

After settling Chen Yuqi, Chen Xu no longer cared about her matters.

The more famous the “Xu” brand became, the more people dug into Chen Xu’s background. To their astonishment, they found out he was Zhuo Shunan’s youngest son.

[Wow, Chen Xu’s background is such a soap opera!]

[Good looks, top scorer, studying economics but winning a fashion design competition, yet separated from his family since childhood. He’s living the “beautiful and tragic” script!]

[No wonder he could start his fashion brand so young. His mom is Zhuo Shunan! Skills from birth, not something you can just envy.]

[His dad is the chairman of Lin Corporation, and his cousin is an actress. I’m so jealous.]

[Ha, you guys are weak. Already envious? What if I told you his husband is Si Ye?!]

[What?! Don’t talk nonsense. When did my husband get married, and why didn’t I know?]

[Check the A University forum. The aloof and abstinent Si Ye picks up and drops off his little husband every week.]

[Oh my gosh! I went to the forum and got stuffed with dog food. What a divine love story!]

[They’re so well-matched! Si Ye even sends flowers to Chen Xu and picks him up every week!]

[So jealous. I wasn’t envious knowing he was Lin Peixin’s brother or Zhuo Shunan’s son, but finding out he’s Si Ye’s husband, I’m filled with jealousy, envy, and hatred 1551]

“They all say they envy me,” Chen Xu showed the comments to Si Ye.

“They should envy me,” Si Ye pinched Chen Xu’s ear, saying, “I’m so lucky to have you.”

Chen Xu leaned forward to hug Si Ye. He was the luckiest one, fortunate to have Si Ye’s love in both lifetimes.

Time flew by in Chen Xu’s busy and fulfilling life, and soon it was time for him to graduate from university. He had just celebrated his twenty-second birthday with Si Ye not long ago. June 1st was the birthday given by his grandfather, also the day his grandfather found him. His real birthday was in April. Since returning to the Lin family, his birthday in April was celebrated with the family, while June 1st was spent quietly with Si Ye.

Chen Xu and Si Ye both liked June 1st. It was the day his grandfather gave him a new life.

“Happy birthday, June 1st. You will always be my little friend,” Si Ye said gently, his eyes filled with warmth as he looked at Chen Xu.

Twenty-two-year-old Chen Xu overlapped with Si Ye’s memory of him: 1.82 meters tall, with a slender figure, graceful lines of shoulders and back, no longer as thin as a teenager.

Uncle Si, help us take a graduation photo,” Chen Xu placed the camera in Si Ye’s hands and ran to stand with Tang Zhen and Zhu Yaoyuan, with their usual library in the background.

Tang Zhen and Zhu Yaoyuan’s smiles stiffened. Even after four years of university, they still felt awe in front of Si Ye. Tang Zhen, now an intern at Si Corporation’s headquarters, had never been more serious.

“All done,” Si Ye took several photos and showed them to Chen Xu for approval.

“Very well taken,” Chen Xu was satisfied with Si Ye’s photography skills.

“I’ll take some pictures of you two,” Tang Zhen volunteered.

Chen Xu glanced at Si Ye and didn’t refuse, handing the camera to Tang Zhen, then holding Si Ye’s hand, walking to a tree blooming with summer flowers.

“You two are so photogenic; these could be magazine covers,” Tang Zhen said enviously.

Over the years, many magazines had invited them, but they never accepted, preferring to keep a low profile and busy with work.

“We could print these and hang them in the bedroom,” Si Ye said, satisfied with Tang Zhen’s photos.

“There’s no more space,” Chen Xu declined.

“Then maybe our house is too small. We should consider moving to a bigger one,” Si Ye seriously contemplated.

Chen Xu: “…”

Zhu Yaoyuan and Qin Yuzhen both stayed for graduate school, while Tang Zhen wanted to start working early due to family circumstances. As soon as Zhu Yaoyuan left with Qin Yuzhen, Tang Zhen’s boyfriend came looking for him.

He had met his boyfriend at the bar where Chen Xu and the others performed. Tang Zhen went there for a gig and ended up holding the guy’s arm, screaming and shaking in excitement. His boyfriend, Qiu An, had never seen a guy as wild as his sister and was stunned. Later, Tang Zhen delivered food to Qiu An’s repair shop, realizing he was the owner. One hot day, Qiu An was fixing a car shirtless, oil smeared on his abs, holding a wrench. Tang Zhen couldn’t move, recognizing his crush. That was the sound of love arriving. Once Tang Zhen pursued him, Qiu An learned his hardworking boyfriend was an A University top student, a stark contrast to his own academic failures, sparking admiration.

Previously, no one attended Chen Xu’s graduation. This time, not only did Si Ye come, but so did his parents and brother. His uncles couldn’t make it due to work but called, promising many gifts as compensation.

Chen Xu couldn’t refuse even if he wanted to.

“Your graduation speech was excellent,” Si Ye said softly beside him.

Chen Xu was puzzled; he hadn’t given the speech yet.

“You attended my graduation in the last life?” Chen Xu turned, incredulous.

“Yes, I stood in the crowd, looking up at you,” Si Ye couldn’t miss such an important day. He had gone secretly.

Chen Xu’s eyes warmed, “How many things have you kept from me?”

Si Ye’s deep eyes were filled with laughter. He leaned in and whispered, “Many. It’ll take a lifetime to tell you. Do you want to listen?”

Chen Xu held his hand, suppressing his tears, and softly replied, “I do.”

They smiled at each other, then Lin Yirun waved, “Xiao Ze, Si Ye, come take a photo.”

His family stood by the teaching building, smiling at them. Chen Xu’s heart felt like it was warmed by the sun. Holding Si Ye’s hand, they ran towards them, “Coming.”

I’m just as happy they finally have their happily ever after and I can see it ??

I don’t understand how can they praise and thank their “adoptive” parents when in fact they are kidnappers. If they had waited for the police at the accident site and not taken the children as if they were apples fallen on the side of the road they would have been raised with their relatives and families.
