ARBRMW : Chapter 97

“Mr. Si, young master Si Lin refuses to eat again today,” the nurse reported to Si Ye helplessly.

Si Ye pushed open the door and walked in. Si Lin had thrown cups, fruits, pillows, and blankets all over the floor. When he saw Si Ye enter, Si Lin didn’t stop. He glared at Si Ye with a dark, intense gaze, panting heavily. His body, already frail from illness and refusal to eat, was skeletal, with dark circles under his eyes, resembling a ghost from the underworld.

“If he refuses to eat, tie him up and give him an IV,” Si Ye instructed the terrified nurse.

Immediately, several strong bodyguards came in, holding Si Lin down while the nurse tied him up and administered an IV.

Si Lin glared at Si Ye with hatred, cursing him viciously, “Si Ye, fuck you! If you have the guts, kill me!”

“How do you have the face to see my parents?!”

“Shut him up,” Si Ye ordered coldly without even glancing at Si Lin.

“Since he has the energy to curse at me, he seems to be fine,” Si Ye said as he walked around the room before heading back to the office. As long as Si Lin was not in mortal danger, he didn’t care how much he struggled.

With the Si family’s affairs settled, Chen Xu finally had time to deal with the Lin family matters.

The Lin family wanted to throw a grand banquet for him and had been urging him to come to discuss the details.

“You should go. There’s nothing much to do at home,” Si Ye said, knowing Chen Xu had just finished a call with Zhuo Shunan and her husband, urging him to come to the capital.

“If I go to the capital, you’ll be lonely at home,” Chen Xu said, putting down his phone and hugging Si Ye, burying himself in his embrace.

Ever since Chen Xu learned about his past life, he had become more straightforward and clingy. Before, although Chen Xu was straightforward, he was usually shy. Now, as soon as he saw Si Ye, he would cling to him like sticky candy.

“I’ll finish my work here quickly and join you,” Si Ye said, holding Chen Xu’s face and kissing his forehead.

Chen Xu thought about it. He was planning to start his own fashion brand and could seek advice from Zhuo Shunan, who had experience in this field.

“Alright, but don’t overwork yourself,” Chen Xu said, wrapping his arms around Si Ye’s neck and inhaling his scent.

Si Ye, feeling a bit distracted by Chen Xu’s affectionate behavior, held Chen Xu’s slim waist and lifted him onto the table, sweeping the books onto the carpet. Chen Xu lay on the cool tabletop, looking up at Si Ye, his slender, porcelain-white hand slipping from Si Ye’s shoulder, unbuttoning his shirt deftly.

Chen Xu’s initiative led to a wonderful and passionate night for both of them.

As a result, Chen Xu couldn’t leave the next day and only boarded Si Ye’s private jet to the capital three days later, taking the sullen Si Xuezhou with him.

“You’re from the Lin family?!” Si Xuezhou was so shocked that he temporarily forgot his troubles.

“Yes, I was surprised too,” Chen Xu said calmly.

Si Xuezhou was speechless. “Forgive me, but you don’t look surprised at all.”

“I’ve already been surprised,” Chen Xu said, peeling an orange and sharing it with Si Xuezhou.

“A while ago, they are all easy to get along with, so don’t be nervous.”

Si Xuezhou looked at the orange in his hand, feeling uneasy. “I’m not related to them. Isn’t it inappropriate for me to go?”

Chen Xu looked at him quizzically. “Aren’t you my brother? How is it unrelated?”

Hearing this, Si Xuezhou was taken aback. Often, Chen Xu’s attitude reflected Si Ye’s. He hadn’t expected that despite his mother’s many offenses, they were still willing to accept him.

“You’re you. Don’t punish yourself for someone else’s mistakes,” Chen Xu said, finishing his half of the orange. Seeing that Si Xuezhou hadn’t eaten his yet, he urged, “It’s sweet, try it.”

“Okay,” Si Xuezhou held back his tears and put the orange in his mouth, its sweetness spreading in his mouth.

“So sweet.”

When Chen Xu and Si Xuezhou arrived at the Lin family home, they were warmly welcomed.

“Xuezhou, right? Chen Xu told me about you. Welcome, make yourself at home,” Zhuo Shunan said, holding Si Xuezhou’s hand warmly.

Feeling uneasy, Si Xuezhou glanced at Chen Xu. Chen Xu explained, “I’m Xiaoze. My real name is Lin Yize.”

“Oh, are you changing your name?” Si Xuezhou asked.

“No,” Chen Xu said. Just as he finished speaking, Lin Yirun appeared in his view.

“Xiaoze!” Lin Yirun called out, looking hopeful and somewhat restrained.

However, Chen Xu merely nodded at him, showing no intention of calling him brother.

Watching Chen Xu walk inside, Lin Yirun clutched his chest, feeling defeated, and followed inside.

During dinner, only Lin Old Master, the two aunts, Zhuo Shunan, Lin Penghan, and Chen Xu were present. The others were at work, and even Lin Yirun had hurriedly returned to see Chen Xu before being called back to the office.

“Xiaoze, I heard from your mother that you won a design competition. Are you planning to pursue this career?” Lin Old Master asked with concern.

“Yes, I am. I’m planning to start my own fashion brand, but recent events have delayed it,” Chen Xu said, not hiding his plans. After all, he was already 23 years old in his combined two lifetimes, having his own career was normal.

However, Lin Old Master and the others were surprised.

“My dear grandson is truly amazing. Do you need investment? Grandpa can invest fifty million, is that enough?”

“I’ll add some more, let’s make it a good start,” said the first aunt.

“I don’t have as much as the first aunt, but I have a nice property downtown that you can use as a studio,” the second aunt offered.

Even Chen Xu, who had experienced the Lin family’s generosity once before, was a bit overwhelmed. As for Si Xuezhou, seeing such generosity for the first time, he was stunned at the dinner table, thinking that Si Ye giving him a house was already generous, but it paled compared to the Lin family’s gesture.

Is this what a capital city family is like?

“Thank you, Grandpa, Aunt, and Aunt. I don’t need that much money right now,” Chen Xu said, trying to refuse their offers, but seeing Lin Old Master’s displeasure, he added, “It’s too much.”

“Xiaoze, you shouldn’t be so reserved. This money is saved for you to spend,” Lin Old Master insisted.

Chen Xu was speechless.

Is this considered a little money?

It seemed like there was a currency exchange rate between him and Lin Old Master when it came to money.

“Yes, you should feel at home here. Your siblings can earn money themselves, but you’re the only one still studying. We have to pamper you,” the first aunt added.

“If you don’t like that property, I have others. If none suit you, I’ll buy a new one for you,” the second aunt offered.

“Alright, enough, let’s talk about it when he needs it,” Zhuo Shunan intervened, rescuing Chen Xu.

Lin Old Master and the aunts finally relented.

Chen Xu looked at Zhuo Shunan gratefully, while Lin Penghan felt left out again, realizing he had no common ground to communicate.

After dinner, Chen Xu took Si Xuezhou to the guest room, instructing him to call the servants if he needed anything or call him if he was too embarrassed.

“Thank you, brother,” Si Xuezhou said, feeling the warmth of the Lin family’s atmosphere and Chen Xu’s care, making his mood lighter, and he slept well that night.

Later, Zhuo Shunan visited Chen Xu’s room to discuss his plans. Initially, she thought he only had an idea, but after talking to him, she realized his plans were mature and well-thought-out, with even a written proposal.

“Since you have it all planned out, I have nothing more to say but to support you fully,” Zhuo Shunan said. As an expert in this field, even though she had retired from design, her brand remained prestigious.

With Zhuo Shunan’s guidance and Chen Xu’s talent, success seemed inevitable.

“Thank you, Mom,” Chen Xu said, smiling sweetly, making Zhuo Shunan want to kiss him on the cheeks.

However, Zhuo Shunan accidentally noticed the marks on Chen Xu’s collarbone and, feeling embarrassed, looked away.

Her child had grown up, with mature thoughts and a significant other.

After Zhuo Shunan left, Chen Xu took a shower and by the time he was ready for bed, it was almost midnight. Before sleeping, he video-called Si Ye.

Seeing the background, he knew Si Ye was still at the office.

Frowning, Chen Xu said, “Si Ye, you’re being naughty, secretly working overtime.”

“Just finishing up a bit more work,” Si Ye said, aiming to complete his tasks early to join Chen Xu in the capital.

“Alright, I won’t disturb you. I’ll watch you work,” Chen Xu said, not wanting to delay Si Ye’s return.

“Okay,” Si Ye agreed and continued working.

It was said that a man looks best when focused on work. Watching Si Ye engrossed in his work, Chen Xu gently brushed his fingers over Si Ye’s features on the screen, smiling unconsciously as his heart raced.

He was falling for Si Ye all over again.

By the time Si Ye finished his work, it was 1 AM. Rubbing his sore neck, he looked at his phone to see Chen Xu asleep, his eyelashes casting shadows on his porcelain skin.

Chen Xu looked more like a delicately crafted doll when asleep. Si Ye’s initially cold gaze softened, taking several screenshots and whispering, “Goodnight,” before ending the call.

When Si Ye finished his work and rushed to the capital, Chen Xu’s studio was already set up with the help of the Lin family. Everyone contributed, leaving Si Ye feeling a bit redundant, even getting teased by his brother-in-law.
