HOLM : Chapter 84

Parallel World (Part Five) - Little fox and dog

On the remote planet, the annual lively festival was in full swing.

Beneath the city walls, which almost blended into the yellow sand, cheerful residents donned unique masks.

Chu Shiye and Ji Mian were also wearing masks to conceal their identities as they strolled through the bustling festival.

As they passed a small stall, Ji Mian lingered for a moment, his gaze drawn to it.

The stall was adorned with an array of trinkets, most of which were shaped like various small animals.

They were rather cute.

Perhaps noticing Ji Mian’s attention, Chu Shiye stopped and asked, “Which one do you like?”

Ji Mian shook his head. “It’s fine. I don’t…”

Before he could finish, Chu Shiye had already picked one and placed it in Ji Mian’s palm.

Ji Mian lowered his head. It was a small, snow-white fox.

Ji Mian’s eyes curved slightly with a smile. “Thank you.”

Chu Shiye gazed into his eyes and said nothing.

The two continued walking. Ji Mian hooked the trinket on his finger, letting it swing gently in mid-air.

As they walked, Ji Mian thought about the small house outside the city and remarked to Chu Shiye, “It seems you didn’t live in the city when you were young.”

Chu Shiye replied, “Mm, they didn’t like me.”

“They” naturally referred to the people in the city.

It might have been an unpleasant memory, but Chu Shiye recounted it with calm detachment, showing no signs of sadness.

Ji Mian raised his hand.

Chu Shiye hesitated for a moment, thinking Ji Mian might be about to pat his head. After a brief pause, he lowered his gaze, seemingly resigned.

Ji Mian did nothing, merely retracting his hand and resuming his idle play with the trinket.

Chu Shiye: “…”

After finishing their stroll through the vibrant festival, the two bid farewell to the planet and returned to their spaceship.

Chu Shiye looked at Ji Mian, appearing as though he wanted to say something, but at that moment, his communicator chimed with a message.

Chu Shiye glanced at the message. After a moment, he said, “Let’s head back.”

Ji Mian replied, “Alright.”

Chu Shiye looked at him again.

Ji Mian smiled. “It’s fine. We’ll have plenty of time to go out again in the future.”

Chu Shiye: “…”

What he was thinking again.

Chu Shiye sat next to Ji Mian in a depressed mood.

The airship arrived outside the palace, and the attendant came to greet him and whispered: “Your Highness, His Majesty summoned you.”

Chu Shiye’s expression was indifferent: “I know.”

Then he turned to Ji Mian: “You go back and rest first.”

Ji Mian: “Okay.”

Another attendant came to greet Ji Mian. Ji Mian said a few words to him, and then he felt a line of sight cast over him.

He turned his face away imperceptibly, and only saw Chu Shiye’s expressionless and tense profile.

Ji Mian: Oh, unhappy, don’t want me to talk to other people.

He winked at Chu Shiye and left.

The back of his Omega disappeared from his sight, Chu Shiye retracted his gaze and walked to the other side.

As he walked, he suddenly noticed something in his pocket and reached in.

It was a black military dog trinket.

When it was put in..

Chu Shiye: “…”

Not long after Ji Mian sat down in the room, the door of the room was pushed open, and the young prince walked in without saying a word.

Ji Mian: “?”

Ji Mian: “What are you doing here?”

Chu Shiye: “This is also my room.”

Ji Mian: “?”

Ji Mian: “This is mine.”

“It’s mine,” Chu Shiye said calmly, “I’m married to you now.”

Ji Mian: “…”

Ji Mian had to change the subject: “Isn’t your father looking for you?”

Chu Shiye: “We’re done talking.”

He walked over and sat down next to Ji Mian.

Ji Mian looked around.

There are so many chairs, why are you sitting here?

But…his gaze fell back on Chu Shiye. This Alpha was looking at him quietly. He seemed a little happy.

Why was he happy?

Ji Mian caught a glimpse of a familiar military dog trinket on the corner of Chu Shiye’s clothes, and was silent for a moment.

Then, he said, “Is there any surveillance here?”

Chu Shiye: “No.”

There was no maid in the room either, and the two looked at each other.

After a few seconds, Ji Mian smiled slightly: “Let’s talk.”

Chu Shiye: “What?”

“Haven’t you always wanted to talk to me?” Ji Mian said, “After all, here, perhaps only you and I are on the same chain of interests.”

Chu Shiye heard this, and his expression seemed to change, and he moved slightly closer to Ji Mian.

This is a listening gesture.

Ji Mian: “I have a purpose for coming here, and I think you should have a purpose as well.”

He smiled and looked into Chu Shiye’s eyes: “So, be honest, let’s all talk.”

Chu Shiye: “Okay.”

“I want to kill my father.”

“I want my father to pay the price.”

“…”

Almost the same words fell, and the two were silent.

After a few minutes, Ji Mian smiled and stretched out his hand.

“Then, we have reached an agreement.”
