AFMD : Chapter 10

Story 2 : “Sissy Aunt”

The eldest princess’s son, Zhao An, fell seriously ill. Following the advice of a senior monk, they paid the Song family’s son to bring good fortune. However, the day before the wedding, the groom passed away. Already living a more miserable life than the servants at the Song household, and now rejected by the eldest princess’s family, Song Jin found himself in a dilemma—marrying or not. Faced with numerous cold stares and having nowhere to turn, he resolutely jumped into a well.

After being rescued, Song Jin remained unconscious for three days, only to wake up with the soul of a modern man.

During his university days, Song Jin dabbled in small business ventures with his classmates. After graduating, he started his own small company, and just as it was progressing well, while negotiating a deal with a large corporation, he suddenly fainted and ended up here.

A surge of blood rose in Song Jin’s throat. Damn it, the contract was ruined!

Unable to bear watching his efforts go to waste, Song Jin found the place where the original owner jumped into the well and jumped in with determination.

Though a materialist, Song Jin had to resort to superstitious methods to deal with this bizarre event happening to him.

Thinking that according to the supernatural stories he’d read, the original owner’s soul might still be lingering in the well, transformed into a water ghost, Song Jin believed that if he jumped down now and let the soul return to its place, could he then go back?

How naive!

Song Jin was immediately pulled out again, and after five days of unconsciousness, when he opened his eyes, the world was still the same.

The news of the Song family’s son jumping into the well twice for love spread throughout the capital. Some cried upon hearing it, while others were heartbroken. Since the eldest princess’s son had died, they had initially decided to call off the wedding. The first time Song Jin jumped into the well wasn’t taken seriously, but the second time couldn’t be ignored, lest they be accused of being heartless and ungrateful.

The eldest princess took into consideration Song Jin’s deep affection and her son’s lifelong bachelor status, and made the decision to accept the marriage.

Taking advantage of Song Jin’s lack of support, instead of holding any ceremonies, they used his identity to request an imperial decree, erecting a plaque of loyalty and chastity for Song Jin in the bustling market on the west side of the capital, making quite a spectacular show of it.

With Song Jin unconscious for five days, by the time he woke up, it was too late to change anything—the plaque was halfway erected, and another imperial decree was issued, making it irreversible.

Song Jin curled up silently in bed, swallowing a mouthful of bitterness

“I am not, I did not, I don’t want to be a widow.”

When Song Jin recovered from his illness and went out, the archway had already been completed. As he walked the streets, observing the customs and people, he suddenly looked up with the rest of the crowd and saw the big characters “Loyal and Chaste” carved on the gate!

Next to it was the name “Song Jin.”

Song Jin: “…”

Someone in the crowd recognized Song Jin, and the news spread like wildfire. The crowd formed a circle around Song Jin, their eyes flashing with strange lights of praise, sympathy, and admiration.

Song Jin pinched his eyebrows, feeling that he must have been out of his mind to think that jumping into a well would take him back! He wanted to strangle his past self!

Bearing the burden of a commemorative archway, Song Jin felt immense pressure.

A gust of wind blew, and Song Jin, with his thin body, felt dizzy and was about to fall to the ground, but he was supported by a servant.

The onlookers became even more sympathetic. Sacrificing oneself twice, even if saved, meant that one foot had stepped into the gates of the netherworld.

“Scenes evoke emotions.”

“Deep emotions lead to an early demise.” Someone sighed, and received agreement from many.

I’m just performing a “natural death” on the spot!

Song Jin: My head hurts.

Since there were many women in the princess’s mansion, it was inconvenient to keep Song Jin around. The princess didn’t want to see him often, so she sent Song Jin to live in a villa outside the city, ostensibly for relaxation and recuperation. Out of sight, out of mind.

Song Jin took two servants with him and happily left. He bribed the two servants and began to engage in business, arranging for a stand-in to stay in the villa while he traveled with one of the servants.

Traveling back and forth, Song Jin’s small business grew bigger and bigger, giving him some comfort that he had finally made up for regrets from his past life.

This time, Song Jin went to the coast to buy tea leaves. Unfortunately, the area was invaded by Japanese pirates. Song Jin and the caravan hid in a dilapidated temple in the mountains for five days until the imperial army finally drove away the pirates.

A young and brave general rode a spirited horse through the streets, eliciting cheers and adoration from the people. Song Jin felt he looked somewhat familiar, so he took a closer look.

After buying the tea leaves and returning to the capital, Song Jin stayed in an inn along the way. In the middle of the night, he suddenly felt someone pressing on him, and his breath felt scorching hot, as if he had been drugged.

After suppressing the bandits, Huo Du coincidentally found himself infected with a potent aphrodisiac. This drug would expose his whereabouts, and a group of vengeful lackeys from the bandits’ gang followed him, seeking to take his life.

Huo Du tried to resist the effects of the drug but inadvertently intensified them, with only a fiery sensation remaining in his lower abdomen. The top priority was to neutralize it immediately to escape.

He dashed into an inn and found himself by a bed.

Unprepared for what he would encounter, Huo Du pressed against a warm and smooth body. He froze for a moment, unable to control his suppressed breath.

The person in the bed was actually naked!

Song Jin suddenly woke up, and their eyes met, recognizing each other.

Wasn’t this the general he had seen on the street earlier?

Huo Du’s eyes darkened. This person had been staring at him for a long time on the street in the morning, and now he was sleeping without clothes. He was truly lascivious!

“You seduced me” Huo Du asserted.

Song Jin, a modern man who was only wearing a pair of shorts to sleep: Get up! What the hell did I seduce you for!

Song Jin was about to push Huo Du away when he suddenly frowned, feeling that something was not right.

This drug could actually be transmitted through the respiratory tract!

Author’s note:

The second character to appear is a mix of cowardly and tough aunt~

Song Jin: I just happened to glance at you a bit more in the crowd…
