AFMD : Chapter 23 part 1

Wen Biyan turned his head and planted a kiss on Gu Xi’s lips, then said to Little Baozi, “This is what being familiar looks like.”

Gu Xi couldn’t help but give Wen Biyan a pat. Wasn’t this teaching the kid bad habits?

Wen Biyan said, “Wait for me a moment.”

With that, he went out and called his agent, demanding an immediate clarification within ten minutes. Every studio had its own set of templates for clarifications, just a few added sentences would do.

Ten minutes later, the studio issued a statement, in black and white, stating that apart from the requirements of the program, Wen Biyan had never initiated any conversation with Liu Fei, and requested the marketing accounts to stop their actions immediately.

Accompanying the statement was a long list, directly naming the marketing accounts and reminding them that legal summons were on their way.

Having been in the entertainment industry for four years, Wen Biyan had money to spare, especially for lawyers. The legal team provided by Wen’s chairman reposted articles in support.

In a certain live broadcast program, Liu Fei was being interviewed by a journalist, maintaining her composure and fabricating stories, claiming that Wen Biyan had taken Little Baozi to play games with them at night. A journalist glanced at the latest news and asked her about the lawyer’s letter Wen Biyan had sent.

Liu Fei’s face changed, not knowing the contents of the lawyer’s letter, and the journalist didn’t tell her.

“Artists using legal weapons to defend their rights, I naturally support,” she said.

The journalist, enjoying the spectacle, continued, “Wen Biyan said he never spoke to you during the program.”

When Little Baozi was being tied up, the male artists mostly issued a statement saying they were just friends; none had been directly contradicted like this before. For a moment, Liu Fei’s face turned ugly. Worse still, she realized that no marketing account was willing to accept her press releases anymore. Stripped of the false pretenses, her popularity dropped from second-tier to barely noticeable.

“Brother is so tough; we need to help Brother make money for lawyer fees!” The fans celebrated.

Gu Xi took advantage of Wen Biyan’s absence and said to Little Baozi, “From now on, call him Dad too.”

Little Baozi looked up at Gu Xi, puzzled. “Are we still on the show?”

Gu Xi replied, “No, it’s because you have two dads. Do you remember why you’re called Gu Wen Shu?”

Little Baozi pretended to forget, scratching his chin. Gu Xi quickly stopped his hand. “Daddy knows you’re itchy; hold on a bit longer, baby.”

Little Baozi was found out and lowered his head in frustration. “Because Daddy said learning from the past to know the future.”

“And there’s another reason: because you’re the treasure of both me and your Daddy Wen,” Gu Xi explained.

Gu Xi thought about lifting his shirt to show him where he came from, but he remembered the bite mark left by Wen Biyan on his belly and abandoned that plan.

“Am I Daddy Wen’s treasure too?” Little Baozi’s eyes widened, but Daddy Wen seems a bit silly. He suddenly felt a bit worried; he would have to teach Daddy more in the future.

“Yes, you are.”

Gu Xi didn’t know that Little Baozi was ready to pass on the coaxing tricks he had learned from Gu Xi.

Wen Biyan proudly showed Gu Xi his lawyer’s letter for review. Gu Xi was amused that Wen Biyan had spent a hefty sum of money on lawyers with just a phone call. Wen Biyan, seeing that Gu Xi wasn’t as jealous as he had imagined, immediately felt wronged.

They got back together too quickly, as if they had tacitly ignored the breakup four years ago, but Wen Biyan always remembered Gu Xi’s reason for breaking up — he couldn’t stand his temper.

Wen Biyan’s temper hadn’t improved over the four years, but from start to finish, except for the incident with the senior, he felt he had been restrained enough in front of Gu Xi. He hoped Gu Xi wouldn’t get close to others; he would get jealous. So, he led by example, even though he entered the entertainment industry, he remained pure.

Wen Biyan considered this an equivalent exchange.

If this wasn’t enough, then what more did he need to do?

Afraid of waking up Little Baozi, who had just fallen asleep, Wen Biyan dragged Gu Xi to the corridor and questioned him, “You don’t even care about me having rumors with other celebrities, do you? When I was sick, you didn’t come. When I was delirious with fever, you still didn’t come. Do you want me to become delirious and not recognize you?”

Gu Xi retorted, “Who was the one comforting you on the phone?”

Wen Biyan turned his head, “Some heartless guy with a voice changer.”

Gu Xi hooked his pinky finger with Wen Biyan’s and smiled, “You called me ‘Shengsheng,’ didn’t you?”

“Why did you break up with me?” Wen Biyan asked, “You couldn’t stand my temper. If that’s the case, you can leave now, or we’ll end up breaking up again in the future.”

Although he said that, Wen Biyan tightly held Gu Xi’s wrist, not letting go.

Having not slept all night, Wen Biyan’s eyes were bloodshot, and he hadn’t been relaxed since last night. Gu Xi suddenly softened, but he didn’t want to meddle in Wen Biyan’s relationship with his father. “I’m sorry, it’s my fault. I was going through a depressive phase during that time. Can you forgive me?”

He later realized that because of his pregnancy, his hormone levels were fluctuating, and his mood was more sensitive than before. Every time Wen Biyan pressured him to do things he didn’t want to, his body felt uncomfortable, far from the peace he showed on the surface. Wen’s chairman’s opposition was one of the reasons, but not the only one.

The most critical issue was their lack of communication. He was under pressure but didn’t speak up, and Wen Biyan got jealous without knowing the reason.

Wen Biyan felt that this reason was too flimsy, but when he thought about Gu Xi’s depressive phase, he felt it was too heavy. When he was flourishing in the entertainment industry, Gu Shengsheng was raising their child alone, and he was doing such a good job with the child.

“There must be other reasons,” Wen Biyan stared at Gu Xi.

Gu Xi was taken aback, thinking he had been found out, but then he heard Wen Biyan continue, “Is it because of that senior?”

“It’s been four years; I’ve forgotten how much you cared about me. If you dare to care about him again…” Gu Xi’s eyebrows raised.

“I do care, why can’t I bring it up?” Wen Biyan was like a tied-up wolf, howling to break free and fight the senior.

At that moment, a familiar figure flashed downstairs, it was the senior.

Seeing Wen Biyan was so angry that he wanted to jump from the third floor to settle the score, Gu Xi quickly grabbed him by the neck and kissed him.

Wen Biyan was dumbfounded for a few seconds, then suddenly realized, his heavy breathing due to anger turned into another kind of panting.

Before the hospital scene played out, Gu Xi pushed Wen Biyan away, panting.

“It has nothing to do with the senior.”

“Shut up, I don’t want you to mention those two words ever again.” Wen Biyan licked Gu Xi’s upper lip, then said he would kiss him again.

Gu Xi was confused. Who was the one mentioning it?

“I’m jealous too. Including those like Liu Fei, Yang Qirui, Fang Yu, and so on.” Gu Xi listed a long string of female stars and their nicknames, all failed attempts to promote themselves with Wen Biyan.

“So, are we competing to see who’s more jealous? Shengsheng is already so big.” Gu Xi teased.

With each name Gu Xi mentioned, Wen Biyan’s mouth widened a bit, and he even asked Gu Xi, “Any more?”

So Shengsheng cares about him this much?

“Any more?” Gu Xi raised an eyebrow.

Wen Biyan was not entirely satisfied; he felt Gu Xi should remember all the female stars he had interactions with, and even the males. He seemed to explode as he confessed, “Do you only remember these few? Did you secretly study up on this recently?”

Saying that, he felt wronged.

Gu Xi sighed. Alright then.

Xiao Baozi was having dinner, and Wen Biyan was also holding a plate of food, sitting cross-legged at the end of the bed, facing him for dinner.

This time, it wasn’t a bowl but a plate, with a list of foods that neither the father nor the son liked to eat.

Wen Biyan angered Gu Xi, increasing the number of “showcase” meals each day.

Seeing Gu Xi wasn’t there, Little Baozi looked sympathetically at Wen Biyan. “Dad, did you start liking these foods after you turned twenty? Just like how I don’t like yam after turning twenty.”

Wen Biyan recalled that Little Baozi had asked him this question for no reason during a recording session. That’s how Gu Xi used to coax Little Baozi into eating yam.

Wen Biyan looked at Little Baozi’s blushing cheeks and didn’t have the heart to tell him that he had to like whatever Gu Xi wanted him to like at his age.

“No, I’ve always liked them, they’re delicious. Sometimes when you don’t like something, it might be a misconception. Try a few more bites, and you’ll start liking it. If you don’t like this adorable yam, it will be sad and won’t grow tall,” Wen Biyan sincerely replied to Little Baozi.

“Oh,” Little Baozi nodded, seeing Wen Biyan earnestly talking nonsense, he gave face and said, “I’ll try to like it.”

It’s really not tasty.

Both Wen Biyan and Little Baozi thought at the same time.

But when Gu Xi arrived, they both said in unison, “It’s delicious.”
