It took Huo Fu’an three minutes to understand the philosopher’s profound thoughts. He had to press Su Yuhe against the pool wall to confirm, “Su Yuhe, is it true?”
Su Yuhe’s white shirt was soaked through, and his body was pressed tightly against Huo Fu’an’s bare chest. He felt a bit embarrassed, turning his head away with a blush. “…It’s like what Marx said.”
Indeed, when one has no desires, they are firm, Su Yuhe thought. Whatever Huo Fu’an demanded now, he would surrender unconditionally. Being too passive wasn’t a good thing. He felt mentally collapsed unless he armed himself with knowledge.
“And he also said you can’t step into the same river twice. Count how many times I’ve stumbled in your river?” Huo Fu’an, the academic underachiever, was afraid he had misunderstood and pinched Su Yuhe’s cheeks, turning his head back. “Speak human language!”
Su Yuhe felt concerned about the literary quality of his future boyfriend. “That’s what Heraclitus said.”
“And, Su Xiaohe, Su Yuhe, obviously, they’re two different ‘rivers’. That statement still holds true.”
Damn this little trickster! Why wasn’t it the same river? If Huo Fu’an had a tangible spirit, he’d definitely be a volatile Alaskan husky circling Su Yuhe.
Why was he debating philosophy with Su Yuhe at this time?
Su Yuhe pulled his face away from Huo Fu’an’s hands, pressed against the pool wall to cool down. “Because Su Yuhe likes you. I’ve said what I wanted to.”
Seeing Huo Fu’an’s eyes burning, as if fire could erupt from them at any moment and burn everything to ashes, the philosopher thought for a moment, then actively peeled off the armor of knowledge, revealing the soft Su Xiaohe inside.
Finally hearing the words he wanted to hear, Huo Fu’an hugged Su Yuhe in the water and kissed him passionately.
They kissed until Su Yuhe had no strength to cling to him and started slipping into the water.
“I’m going to pass out,” Su Yuhe said.
So Huo Fu’an carried Su Yuhe out of the water and performed artificial respiration for ten minutes.
He helped Su Yuhe take off his soaked clothes, put on a dry bathrobe, cuddled him like a treasure, and kissed him repeatedly.
…
With Su Yuhe’s help, Huo Fu’an passed his final exams smoothly, and with numerous bonus points from sports achievements, he might even get a scholarship.
Summer vacation was approaching, and Huo Fu’an felt a bit resentful. Half of their time together had been taken up by studying since they started dating.
It was mostly his fault. Su Yuhe seemed to excel effortlessly in everything. If Huo Fu’an didn’t step up his review, he might fail his first subject since they started dating.
Huo Fu’an suspected that if he failed, Su Yuhe might call him out for a conversation, just like his high school homeroom teacher did – “Love affects studying. Can’t it wait until graduation?”
With all the exams over, Huo Fu’an was reluctant to part with Su Yuhe. “Do you want to come to my place? It’s rich in historical context, very suitable for you.”
Huo Fu’an regretted for the first time that there were no assignments in college. Otherwise, he could invite Su Yuhe to his place to do assignments, and Su would surely be praised by the teacher.
Su Yuhe pondered for a moment. “Okay, but I need to go home first.”
Su Yuhe agreed too quickly, making Huo Fu’an want to hug him in place and spin around three times. “Then I’ll come to your place to pick you up.”
…
The two of them immediately went home and told their families about their new relationship. It was probably the most telepathic moment they had ever experienced.
Judge Su’s father sat in the main seat, accompanied by five jurors, quietly listening to Su Yuhe’s closing statement.
“I can take responsibility for my own choices. You don’t have to worry, Dad.”
Judge Su had ruled on countless bizarre cases, but none had impacted him as much as his own son’s revelation.
They didn’t understand the path of same-sex love and couldn’t provide professional advice. They simply subconsciously didn’t want their son to go down an unclear path.
But was this path necessarily worse than another? They were deeply puzzled but couldn’t provide a definite answer.
Based on the principle of giving the benefit of the doubt to the accused, Judge Su made the decision: “Then bring him home to meet us sometime.”
On the other hand, the situation was different for Huo Fu’an.
He excitedly boasted to his father, “Dad, I’ve nabbed the most cultured guy in our school.”
In reality, he was the one who had been turned.
Old Huo, unaware of the truth, was overjoyed and immediately replaced the leather sofa at home with a set of antique wooden chairs. “I’ll buy a couple of paintings to hang up.”
As Huo Fu’an went upstairs, he said, “You better hurry. I’ll be bringing him to our house in a few days.”
…
Ten days later, Huo Fu’an emerged from Su’s house with weak legs and pressed Su Yuhe’s face against his chest. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
“I was afraid you’d be nervous.”
“Still, you should have told me before I got off the plane. I arrived at your house without even adjusting my expression.” Huo Fu’an worried that his sincerity was insufficient. He only brought two gifts, which seemed too few. At least he should have had a truckload of gifts sent from his home!
“Did you tell your family? I may look big and tall, but I never bully you.” The sports champion ruined his reputation. “I’ve always been good at mediating since I was a child.” Despite being tall and strong, he was often misunderstood as a bully.
“Don’t worry, as long as we’re good, they won’t have any objections.” Su Yuhe asked Huo Fu’an, “Have you made travel plans?”
Huo Fu’an remembered Su Yuhe’s plans and immediately felt a headache. How could he make plans? With money, he could go anywhere. He took Su Yuhe’s luggage and said, “Let’s go to my house first.”
“Okay.” Su Yuhe nodded knowingly, intending to meet the parents.
He boarded and disembarked the plane in sync with Huo Fu’an. But as they neared Huo’s house, he suddenly seemed like a different person – resolute, with a straight back, effortlessly making tea and engaging in casual conversation.
When Su Yuhe went to the bathroom, Huo Fu’an’s father grabbed his ear and growled, “Why is he a guy?”
“Didn’t you say he’s cultured?” Huo Fu’an retorted.
“He is.” Sitting there in his scholarly surroundings, Huo’s father finished his tea in five sips, feeling worthy of Su Yuhe.
“Think back to what you said earlier. The most cultured one.” Huo Fu’an emphasized, “The most cultured one at our school is a guy. One should not be greedy. Contentment brings happiness.”
Huo’s father thought about it and found some truth in it. Contentment indeed brings happiness. He sighed, “Your mother used to complain that I wasn’t cultured enough. Now, with the two of you standing together like this, you seem even less cultured than me. Will his family agree?”
Huo’s father shook his head at his son, regretting not having whipped him into studying harder.
“They agreed.” Huo Fu’an gritted his teeth.
Huo Fu’an found it somewhat miraculous that in just two days, they had met each other’s parents. In ancient times, they would have been betrothed by their parents and could have gone straight to the bridal chamber.
He was itching with anticipation.
Su Yuhe saw through his thoughts. “Not yet.”
Huo Fu’an protested, “We’re progressing rapidly in all other aspects. Why not this one?”
“Because we’re not fully prepared,” Su Yuhe said. “You used to be a straight guy, remember?”
Huo, the straight guy turned lover, had brought a large…
Blood exchange, learning until now, has yielded great results. He was determined to shape an impressive image of innate talent and self-taught mastery in front of Su Yuhe, so instead of admitting he had learned, he urged Su Yuhe incessantly.
Su Yuhe sat on a chair, his back straight, like a proud little poplar tree, its leaves trembling gently in the clouds. He had heard from the cross-dressing master that the first time would be very painful. Su Yuhe didn’t know that the cross-dressing master deliberately exaggerated, and he witnessed the cross-dressing master lying in bed for three days without getting up, which instilled some fear in him.
But desire was not exclusive to Huo Fu’an; Su Yuhe reluctantly consented, finally giving in.
“Do you remember the procedure for the experimental physics?”
“???”
Su Yuhe, in disarray, struggled to stay alert. “First, write a pre-lab report.” Just being kissed made it hard for him to breathe, and he was a little scared.
Huo Fu’an’s arrow was on the string: “I’m doing you, not an experiment.”
Su Lao Shi tightened his lips, very strict: “No pre-lab, no go.”
“I lied to you before, I know how to do it.” Huo Fu’an could only tell the truth, taking out something he had prepared early from the drawer to prove it.
“I don’t believe you.” Su Yuhe moved to the diagonal corner of the bed.
Huo Fu’an lifted a stone to hit his own foot, feeling a headache. Just as he was about to prove it with action, Su Yuhe, looking aggrieved, lifted his head: “Am I not worth a pre-lab report?”
“…” Worth it.
