AFMD : Chapter 62

Shen Yi always felt like he was being watched by He Yue in the hospital, unable to turn over. Now, residing in this spacious mansion, there was no need for He Yue to share a bed with him at night, so Shen Yi could finally sleep as he pleased.

He sank into the snow-white bed, his pajama pants half off, revealing two round buttocks and a dark bruise. While planning his study schedule for next week to catch up on the progress delayed by his injury, Shen Yi massaged the bruise with medicinal oil.

He Yue entered without knocking, just in time to witness this heart-racing scene. He quickly backed out and remedied the situation by knocking three times before entering again.

However, upon reentering, Shen Yi was still in the same state, not even pulling up his pants.

What was this little lame boy up to? Trying to tease him on purpose?

He Yue hesitated in his steps, his gaze avoiding Shen Yi’s, until he mustered up the courage to sit at the edge of Shen Yi’s bed, his eyes glued to Shen Yi’s back.

Shen Yi now regarded He Yue as a good friend who had come to his aid in a time of need, feeling that there was no need to avoid him about certain things. After all, they were both men, and there was nothing serious about it.

“You got bruised? Why didn’t you say so?” He Yue couldn’t help but reach out and touch, finding the skin smooth like a piece of elastic milk pudding.

“I felt embarrassed to mention it at first.”

And now you’re not embarrassed? He Yue pinched again, wondering if it was his imagination, but Shen Yi seemed less afraid of him now.

Shen Yi yelped and handed the medicinal oil to He Yue. “Can you help me?”

He Yue incredulously took it, with his mouth reflexively saying, “One kiss.”

“Um, okay.” Shen Yi nodded imperceptibly. After all, it didn’t matter how many he owed, since they couldn’t really kiss.

One hundred at a time was fine too.

He Yue just wanted to help him but felt too embarrassed to propose it outright, hence he had to use the pretext of kisses.

Feeling the moderate pressure on his buttocks, Shen Yi closed his eyes in contentment.

But the other person wasn’t as comfortable as him. He Yue couldn’t understand why Shen Yi wasn’t afraid of being kissed by him.

He Yue felt like he should have the upper hand theoretically, but at present, Shen Yi seemed quite agreeable to being directed by him?

For once, He Yue used his brain to think and realized that the source of this phenomenon was because he had yet to actually kiss Shen Yi!

Anyone threatened with the same excuse but failing to execute it would be seen through, even by a three-year-old. He Yue grasped this point and suddenly felt a burst of heat throughout his body, his earlobes turning red. He cleared his throat and spent some time mentally preparing.

For instance, if Shen Yi got angry, how should he placate him? The second kiss should be longer than the first, right?… Thus passed thirty minutes.

When He Yue finally kissed Shen Yi’s cheek with what he thought was a thunderous spark accompanied by lightning, Shen Yi was already asleep.

He Yue pinched the back of Shen Yi’s neck, deducting one from his hefty debt. “Three hundred and fifty-one left.”

That night, Shen Yi slept particularly soundly, while He Yue suffered, spending an hour in the bathroom.

But the person involved didn’t see it that way; he believed it was a release of body and mind after retaliation.

The next day, He Yue still acted like a lord, pushing a prepared sandwich in front of Shen Yi. “Eat, three hundred and fifty-two.”

Five burnt slices of bread lay in the trash can. He Yue calmly kicked them under the dining table.

Shen Yi frowned. As an academic achiever, he placed great importance on numbers. He immediately noticed that He Yue had miscounted. The time He Yue massaged his buttocks last night should have been counted as three hundred and fifty-two; it was short by one.

Sure enough, He Yue didn’t really care about the kisses; he just wanted to help me.

Thinking of this, Shen Yi smiled gratefully at He Yue. His almond eyes were particularly docile, giving the illusion of innocence even when he was plotting. If he smiled, it would seem like he was deliberately flattering and acting obedient in He Yue’s eyes, who was unreasonable.

He Yue rubbed Shen Yi’s head with his big hand, feeling satisfied with his obedience. And when he saw Shen Yi applying lipbalm in the afternoon, he became even more convinced. He had only kissed Shen Yi once last night without biting too hard, yet now this little lame boy had the awareness to apply lipbalm. Was it because he was afraid of being kissed too much, or was he preparing in advance?

Shen Yi felt heartache as he looked at the three new lipbalms. He remembered buying only the highest quality ones initially, regardless of their price, but now they were of no use. Could he return them?

But he couldn’t go out now, and it wouldn’t be right to bother He Yue. Shen Yi could only apply them randomly on his lips, trying to make the most of them. As a dedicated student, he rarely used lipbalm, often finding inspiration in “Preface to the Poems Composed at the Orchid Pavilion”. After using them for three consecutive days, his lips became rosy and glossy, making He Yue even more eager to kiss him.

He Yue still had unfinished coursework back in China but had taken leave to catch people overseas. His brother couldn’t do anything about it and had come up with an excuse to give him a ten-day leave. Now that the deadline had arrived, and with several exams approaching, his brother had to scold and shout at him to hurry back to school.

“I’ve failed three subjects already. What’s a few more days? It’s not just a week. I’ll definitely return before the exams…” Shen Yi, who still couldn’t walk, had received so many kisses from He Yue, how could he just abandon him?

Sitting in his wheelchair, Shen Yi overheard He Yue’s words through the slightly open door. He Yue had skipped classes to take care of him. Shen Yi’s first reaction wasn’t gratitude but rather a teacher-like concern.

Credits were tied to graduation, and not getting a diploma after four years of university would mean wasting his youth.

Shen Yi knocked on the door. “Your studies are important. You should go back to the country.”

He Yue felt embarrassed that Shen Yi had overheard his phone conversation. He threw his phone onto the sofa and, lifting Shen Yi’s wheelchair with both hands, placed it on a table, feeling a bit relieved that Shen Yi couldn’t get down.

“You haven’t fully repaid your debt. How can I leave? What if you default?” He Yue squatted down to check Shen Yi’s right foot, carefully stretching it a few times. “Does it hurt?”

“Doesn’t feel like much,” Shen Yi said, his eyes lowered, long eyelashes covering his contemplative gaze.

How couldn’t he see? He Yue didn’t want to go back because he was worried about him. Shen Yi inadvertently became the biggest obstacle to He Yue’s studies.

Shen Yi couldn’t enjoy He Yue’s care with a clear conscience anymore. He spent the whole day arguing with He Yue, urging him to return to his studies, but all he got was, “Let me kiss you one more time.”

Shen Yi, the top student, couldn’t stand seeing someone neglecting their studies. So, when He Yue woke up the next day, he found the room empty.

The little cripple had run away!

There was a note on the table, stating truthfully, “Shen Yi owes He Yue 566 kisses,” and it mentioned that these would be repaid when He Yue graduated. The note was stamped with blue and purple handprints because Shen Yi couldn’t find red ink and had to use iodine from the medicine box. It looked quite official.

At the bottom was a stack of money, the living expenses and care fees Shen Yi paid to He Yue.

For Shen Yi, the note was just for fun, implying that He Yue should remember to graduate, with the main focus being on repaying the debt. Although He Yue probably didn’t care much about the money Shen Yi owed him for his food and care.

For He Yue… he was furious! Who gave this little cripple the right to decide that he would repay the kisses after graduation? What if he didn’t graduate?

He Yue was determined to bring him back and make him repay everything in one go!

Before He Yue could catch up to Shen Yi, his brother’s men came knocking. Seven burly men in black took He Yue to the airport and back to China to take his exams.

He Yue’s older brother was ten years older than him and had spoiled him since childhood. When He Yue saw child prodigies skipping grades on TV during middle school, he said he wanted to skip grades too, reasoning, “I won’t learn anything this year anyway. When I get to ninth grade, it’ll be like I never went to eighth.”

So, his brother arranged for him to skip a grade. But when their father intervened, saying He Yue had to graduate from university on his own, or else he’d be disowned, He Yue’s brother had no choice but to resort to this extreme measure.

He Yue was brought back to China helplessly, his passport confiscated.

The first thing he did when he got his phone back was to call Shen Yi.

“Where’s your conscience? You owe me a ton of kisses and then run away?” He Yue angrily questioned. “So, I’ve only kissed you twice and taken care of you for two weeks? Is your face worth that much?”

Shen Yi replied, “Thank you for taking care of me… Wait, I’ve only been kissed twice?”

“Yeah,” He Yue grumbled, “Don’t you remember? That day I massaged your butt to make up for it. Don’t try to deny the rest.”

Shen Yi was shocked. “Did you actually want to kiss me?”

He Yue grew cautious. “Are you trying to weasel out of your debt?”

“No… Aren’t you a straight guy?”

“I am—” He Yue hesitated, and they both fell into silence.
