AFMD : Chapter 4

The next day, Gu Miao flew to a coastal city for a brand event. It was a pure brand event where Gu Miao didn’t have to say a word. The fact that the brand dared to invite him ultimately came down to his popularity.

After it ended, Gu Miao put on a thick mask and sunglasses and went out to stroll around. He wore an extra thick down jacket with a hat, completely covering the early spring limited edition outfit he wore on stage, looking nothing like a star who had just come down from the stage.

Gu Miao had lived in this city since he was young, and with his busy work schedule, he rarely had the chance to stroll around the streets.

As a school gate opened, a group of youthful students poured out. Gu Miao leaned against a pillar to avoid the crowd and heard the students excitedly discussing the upcoming concert by the boy band.

“It’s Fu Zhen’s first time here! But my mom won’t let me go.”

“I heard there will be a surprise guest tonight. I really want to see it live!”

“What if it’s Gu Miao, and your brother proposes on stage…”

“Shut up, are you the devil?!”

Gu Miao looked at the girl with a ponytail, obviously Fu Zhen’s biggest fan, and gave her a reassuring look: Don’t worry, it definitely isn’t me.

He continued to wander aimlessly, unknowingly arriving at the sports square where the queue to enter the venue circled several times, with scalpers nearby enthusiastically recommending front-row seats.

Five thousand each, no deceit.

Perhaps the scalper was too enthusiastic, Gu Miao felt tempted. Although he had worked with Fu Zhen before, he had never seen him perform live.

Seeing that Gu Miao didn’t speak but didn’t refuse either, the scalper, with a simple and honest accent, immediately tried to befriend him: “Sister, this is the last ticket I have. If you don’t buy it now, the show will start.”

Just as Gu Miao hesitated, there was suddenly a commotion in the crowd. The scalper’s eyes flickered, and he shoved a bunch of tickets into Gu Miao’s arms, “This ticket is too expensive for you. I won’t buy it.”

Gu Miao was stunned. Just a moment ago, the scalper said there was only one ticket left, so how did he suddenly have dozens more?

“Stay still! Don’t move!” In a dizzying whirl, Gu Miao and the scalper were both pushed to the ground.

So Gu Miao had an adventurous experience in a police car.

The entertainment reporters squatting by the news at the side of the sports field flashed with recognition. Gu Miao?

Police station.

“Come clean, whose fake tickets are these?” The police interrogated.

The scalper passionately defended himself: “They’re not mine, I just wanted to buy them, I haven’t even paid yet!”

The other suspect wearing sunglasses remained silent, unable to speak.

The police immediately turned suspicious eyes towards the woman in sunglasses, who had not removed them from start to finish. Some people may look glamorous on the surface but are actually cheating the hard-earned money of the working people.

Gu Miao had to borrow a pen and explain his identity to the police, and then pulled up his work schedule to prove that he didn’t have the time or need to be a scalper.

The police believed him for the most part, but still had some doubts: “Why did you buy scalped tickets to Fu Zhen’s concert if you’re not only his wife?”

The question was too sharp.

Gu Miao internally: Listen to the marketing hype!

“We’re just friends” Gu Miao wrote on paper, every word conveying his sincerity.

Gu Miao humbly accepted the police officer’s oral advice to “buy tickets through legitimate channels and not contribute to the scalping trend” leaving the scalper dumbfounded.

Just as he left the police station, camera flashes suddenly began to flicker incessantly. The media that had been stuck at the sports field had arrived after hearing the news.

Gu Miao hurriedly returned to the police station. His assistant and manager were not around, and as a mute, he couldn’t handle this situation alone.

Gu Miao tried calling his manager but got no answer, so he reluctantly tried sending a text message to Fu Zhen.

“I’m at XX police station, can you send a driver to pick me up?”

Fu Zhen was probably backstage getting ready, so he didn’t see Gu Miao’s message.

Feeling somewhat guilty, the police officer said: “I’ll call for you.”

Gu Miao quickly thanked him.

He regretted it the next second.

“Your wife is at the police station for questioning. Can you come over?” The police officer looked at the note on Gu Miao’s phone and smiled knowingly. “He cares about you a lot and will be here soon.”

Gu Miao had Fu Zhen labeled as “husband” on his phone, a label that Fu Zhen had sneakily changed and Gu Miao hadn’t bothered changing back.

Gu Miao thought Fu Zhen would send a driver after seeing the message, but ten minutes later, Fu Zhen himself arrived, escorting Gu Miao through the barrage of media.

Gu Miao could already foresee tomorrow’s headlines.

#Breaking News! Husband and wife visit the police station together, become legal experts.

#Fu Gu suspected of relationship issues, Gu Miao actually bought scalped tickets to Fu Zhen’s concert!

#Gu Miao caught buying scalped tickets, Fu Zhen personally goes to the police station to pick him up.

Once in the car, Fu Zhen endured and confirmed again, “You bought scalped tickets to see me?”

Gu Miao heard the excitement and excitement in his voice, afraid that he would drive into a ditch. There would be a large group of media following behind them back to the sports field, and the scene would be huge. Gu Miao nodded randomly to indicate for him to focus on driving.

“Do you want to sit in the front row or wait for me backstage?” Fu Zhen asked.

[“Backstage.”]

At this point, it was clearly impossible for Gu Miao to be an ordinary audience member. As long as he didn’t appear on stage, tomorrow’s studio press release about “buying scalped tickets to attend a concert” might still salvage the situation.

Without warning, Fu Zhen abruptly left the staff and hastily drove away as if his wife were in labor, startling everyone else. They thought the concert was about to be canceled.

Twenty minutes later, Fu Zhen returned with Gu Miao. The manager breathed a sigh of relief, even showing a subtle sense of “as expected.”

There was a row of boxed meals on the table, but no one dared to touch them. When they saw Gu Miao come in, they all called out “Sister-in-law” in unison.

Gu Miao: “…”

Fu Zhen rummaged through a pile of takeout and pulled out a box of fish stew that Gu Miao liked. “Are you hungry? Sit here and eat.”

Gu Miao shook his head. Everyone was busy, and it didn’t seem appropriate for him to eat heartily.

Fu Zhen frowned, and his teammates enthusiastically echoed, “Don’t be shy, we’re all family here.”

Gu Miao could only accept it and sat quietly to the side, not wanting to disturb them. The concert started on time, and Fu Zhen’s voice was highly recognizable. Gu Miao could distinguish every lyric and harmony he sang.

He immediately realized that he was becoming somewhat addicted, which wasn’t a good thing at all. Gu Miao quickly opened the boxed meal to divert his attention, and once he started eating, he couldn’t stop.

One reason he rarely ate with the girl group was because he ate a lot, and he felt embarrassed in front of a group of girls who only ate salads.

Gu Miao had no idea what was happening outside, only hearing sudden commotion. The manager and organizers were urgently discussing something.

“How did he suddenly have an allergy! He’s about to go on stage, it’s over, we’ve been promoting this for a month…”

“We don’t have time to find a replacement, and we haven’t rehearsed, how can we go on.”

It turned out that the concert had invited Fu Zhen’s close friend from the entertainment circle, a popular actor, as a surprise guest. However, just now, the actor had an allergic reaction due to something he ate for dinner and was urgently sent to the hospital.

The actor and Fu Zhen’s interactions were widely known, and their joint appearance tonight would have been a hot topic. Of course, that was in the past. Fu Zhen killed off that pairing himself, and Gu Miao ended up taking the spotlight.

Exactly! Gu Miao!

Who else could be more of a topic right now than Gu Miao? The manager’s eyes gleamed as he looked at Gu Miao, who was quietly sitting in the corner.

Gu Miao, holding the boxed meal: I just ate a meal you gave me… that’s all?

Indeed, there’s no such thing as a free lunch, especially from Fu Zhen.

The more the manager thought about it, the more it made sense. Gu Miao and Fu Zhen had just collaborated on the annual meeting, and they had attracted countless fans with just one performance. Going on stage directly would ensure quality.

The manager immediately notified the male group on stage through the earpiece that the program had changed, and now Gu Miao would be saving the day.

Fu Zhen was stunned for a moment as the music transitioned to the familiar opening song of the annual meeting.

Other members: Damn, it’s really going to turn into a dance now.

The manager pulled Gu Miao up and spun him around. With a zip, he pulled down Gu Miao’s down jacket, revealing the light blue dress Gu Miao had worn for the brand event earlier.

“This outfit… let’s just make do with it. It’s too late to change now.”

Gu Miao felt like he was being pushed onto a duck rack. Standing on the lift, he was a bit bewildered.

Why did he feel like he was being treated as Fu Zhen’s family member?

Where’s my sky-high appearance fee!

Gu Miao was lost in thought for a moment but quickly adjusted his state.

The starlit stage dimmed.

In the darkness, a soft spotlight shone on Fu Zhen’s figure in front, forming a beautiful circle of light, with Gu Miao standing in the middle. Fu Zhen’s eyes slightly darkened as he gazed at Gu Miao, who was standing on this lively stage, seemingly out of place yet surprisingly integrated.

It was as if a wild child, who had gone all out in his madness, had met someone worth cherishing with his life, standing at one end and watching the bride slowly approach at the other end of the church.

They stepped to the same beat, slowly getting closer, their gazes locked, their steps matching one by one, as if they had coordinated countless times before, seamlessly fitting together. There were no stage audience in their eyes, only each other.

Gu Miao’s dress unexpectedly created a contrasting effect, blending simplicity and elegance with wild abandon, releasing warmth and passion.

The rescue was considered successful, even better than the original plan.

As the music approached its end, Gu Miao, with practiced ease, hooked his legs around Fu Zhen’s waist. Because of the costume, this time he didn’t completely lean back and support himself on his palms, only slightly distancing his upper body to ensure the posture was suitable for the ending.

Suddenly, the strap around Gu Miao’s neck loosened, and his Adam’s apple faintly showed, with the 360-degree camera above broadcasting in real time, about to expose him to the public.

Gu Miao’s heart pounded violently, his blood racing. He had been pinned down like a scalper before, and the strap had long been loose. Normally, when he went on stage, he would ensure that his Adam’s apple was well covered, but he had been too hasty just now and forgot to check.

Gu Miao looked at Fu Zhen with a hint of distress and urgency in his eyes, along with an unconscious plea for help.

Quick as lightning, Fu Zhen bent down and fiercely kissed Gu Miao’s Adam’s apple.

The real-time footage froze in the center of the big screen, capturing Fu Zhen holding Gu Miao’s delicate and fair neck, his eyelashes slightly lowered, his gaze affectionate, as if a vampire had bared his sharp fangs, aiming at the fragile blood vessel of a human.

Confirmed relationship!

The whole audience screamed, and the fans went wild.
