PAGBWMH : Chapter 65

What Kind of Fetish is This?

Yi Wei hadn’t controlled his strength properly, and he ended up leaving a noticeable bite mark on Gu Yueshan’s chin. That evening, Yi Wei felt especially guilty, so he was more caring and obedient than usual.

The next day, Gu Yueshan had a social event to attend, and the bite mark on his chin drew the attention of his friends.

Wei Nanfeng couldn’t help but stifle a laugh, trying not to laugh too openly. He said, “If you go by the old saying, a man’s scars are like medals of honor. Is this a medal your partner awarded you? Isn’t it a bit too obvious?”

Gu Yueshan glanced at Wei Nanfeng without saying anything, seemingly indifferent to the jokes his friends were making.

“Come on, tell me,” Wei Nanfeng whispered, “how did you manage to upset your partner so much that they bit you this hard?”

“He asked me if I preferred him as he is at home or how he is at the Linjiang mansion,” Gu Yueshan replied, swirling his wine glass.

Wei Nanfeng blinked in surprise before saying, “Wait, is he actually jealous of himself? And he bit you out of frustration? What kind of fetish is this? Are you guys that into the roleplay?”

The real reason behind Yi Wei’s anger was something Gu Yueshan would never reveal to Wei Nanfeng, so Wei Nanfeng was left perplexed, unable to understand how someone could get so angry over jealousy of themselves.

News of Gu Yueshan’s bite quickly spread. At first, people assumed that Yi Wei was the one who bit him, and they marveled at how much Gu Yueshan spoiled and indulged him. But as the rumors circulated, people learned that Yi Wei had been staying at the Mi family’s house, while Gu Yueshan hadn’t returned home and had been living at the Linjiang mansion. So, it became clear that the bite wasn’t from Yi Wei but from the woman at the Linjiang mansion.

The rumors took on a life of their own. Some speculated that Gu Yueshan preferred the woman at the Linjiang mansion because “wildflowers are more fragrant than homegrown ones.” Others believed that Gu Yueshan must still love Yi Wei more; otherwise, why would he marry him and have a child with him? This unexpected turn of events sparked much debate, with people even placing bets on who Gu Yueshan liked more.

“She bit your fourth uncle? And left such a noticeable mark on his chin?” Xu Hua was surprised after hearing Gu Heng’s account.

“That’s what everyone’s saying. And my fourth uncle really does have a bite mark on his chin. He’s been staying at the Linjiang mansion, and Yi Wei has been staying with the Mi family. So, it must have been the woman at the mansion who bit him,” Gu Heng explained.

“Your fourth uncle started practicing martial arts when he was very young. By his teenage years, he could take down a group of kidnappers on his own…,” Xu Hua trailed off, then changed her tone. “Even a few strong men wouldn’t be able to overpower him. For a woman to bite him, it’s clear that he allowed it.”

“Grandma, this is a good thing, isn’t it?” Gu Heng asked.

“Of course, it is. It shows that, in your fourth uncle’s heart, this woman might be able to compete with Yi Wei,” Xu Hua said. “Ideally, this will cause friction between Yi Wei and your fourth uncle. But Yi Wei is cunning. Even if he’s upset, he probably won’t show it.”

“How can we get him to fight with my fourth uncle?” Gu Heng asked.

“It doesn’t have to happen right away. In the academy, spread rumors that your fourth uncle prefers the woman outside, and make the story as bad as possible. These words will eventually reach Yi Wei’s ears, and they’ll start to take root in his mind,” Xu Hua suggested.

“I understand,” Gu Heng replied.

Two days later, Yi Wei returned to the Mi family’s house, realizing he needed to make more public appearances. Staying out of sight for too long would raise suspicions.

Sun Qi also came by to update Yi Wei on the rumors circulating at the academy.

“Why did you bite Mr. Gu?” Sun Qi asked, confused.

“I…,” Yi Wei hesitated, embarrassed. “I was just really mad at the time and wanted to vent. I didn’t mean to bite him so hard.”

“People at the academy are talking more and more. It’s crazy how they can take something small and twist it into something so wild. Their imaginations are really something,” Sun Qi said.

“It’s obvious someone is deliberately spreading these rumors to make sure I keep this incident in mind,” Yi Wei said, shifting the baby into a more comfortable position.

After thinking for a moment, Sun Qi asked, “Is it Gu Heng and that old lady from the Gu family?”

“Who else could it be?” Yi Wei replied.

“So, what are you going to do?”

Yi Wei narrowed his eyes in thought and then said, “I’ll give them what they want. Let them see how I ‘fight’ with Mr. Gu.”

Yi Wei had planned to return to the Gu family the next day. But to make it seem like he was really upset with Gu Yueshan, he made Gu Yueshan come pick him up three times before finally agreeing to go home. Once back at the Gu family’s estate, he didn’t return to their residence but instead stayed with the baby at Haitang Garden. As a result, Gu Yueshan had his secretary, Wu, and his assistant, Deng Song, move to another courtyard so he could stay at Haitang Garden with Yi Wei.

To outsiders, it looked like Yi Wei was throwing a tantrum. The couple wasn’t staying in their own house, instead relocating the staff and staying in the assistants’ quarters.

In reality, Yi Wei and Gu Yueshan were enjoying their time together, more in love than ever, even sweeter than when they were on their honeymoon.

Yi Wei lay in Gu Yueshan’s arms, resting his eyes when his other phone buzzed. He opened his eyes, checked the screen, and said, “Gu Heng is rushing me again. He’s asking if I’ve made up my mind, saying Yi Wei must already hate me by now. He claims that sooner or later, Yi Wei will come after me, and only they can help me fight against him. He says I wouldn’t stand a chance on my own. Hahaha.”

“Did he also say ‘hahaha’?” Gu Yueshan teased.

“That was me,” Yi Wei chuckled, tossing his phone aside and wrapping his arms around Gu Yueshan’s neck. “Just thinking about it makes me laugh. I can’t wait to see their faces when they realize I’ve been playing them.”

Gu Yueshan lifted Yi Wei’s chin and kissed him tenderly.

Just as Yi Wei was about to get completely lost in the moment, he stopped Gu Yueshan and said, “Wait, let me reply to him first.”

Yi Wei picked up his phone again and sent Gu Heng a message: **I agree**.

A little while later, Gu Heng responded: **Find a way to get pregnant. Once you’re expecting, we’ll bring you into the Gu family. Mr. Gu won’t let his child be illegitimate. When you’re pregnant, we’ll tell you the rest of the plan**.

After reading the message aloud, Yi Wei laughed and said, “Our eldest son isn’t even six months old yet, and they already want me to get pregnant again. This so-called plan of theirs is truly ruthless, but to be fair, it’s probably the most effective one they’ve got.”

As Yi Wei typed his response, he read it out loud: “Mr. Gu won’t let me get pregnant. He says having Yi Wei give him children is enough. He would never have an illegitimate child, and if I did get pregnant, he’d make me abort it.”

Yi Wei crafted this reply to avoid raising any suspicion. If he agreed too quickly, even if Gu Heng didn’t get suspicious, the Elder Madam and Gu Heng’s grandfather certainly would.

A while later, Yi Wei read Gu Heng’s next reply: **Find a way to get pregnant and hide it from Mr. Gu at first. If you can’t even manage that, you’ll never be able to beat Yi Wei. Don’t worry, when Mr. Gu visits you, tell us, and we’ll give you advice on what to do next**.

Yi Wei responded with four words: **I understand**, then tossed his phone aside, wrapped his arms around Gu Yueshan’s neck, and slowly got lost in the moment again.

Yi Wei had agreed to Gu Heng’s plan, but pretending to be pregnant wasn’t something he could do overnight. He decided to wait two or three months before considering whether to go along with the fake pregnancy.

A little over a month later, Mi Xue asked Yi Wei to visit her.

Yi Wei brought the baby to the Mi family’s house, and after Mi Xue took the baby, he sat down across from her and asked, “Mom, is there something you wanted to talk to me about?”

“I want to recommend you for this competition,” Mi Xue said as she slid a tablet toward Yi Wei. “It’s a great opportunity for growth.”

After reading the details about the competition, Yi Wei’s interest was piqued. “I’ve heard about this competition before. It’s only been around for a few years. I was planning to wait until I finished my studies and then ask you to recommend me. Do you really think I’m ready now?”

“I’ve already looked into the participants for this year’s competition. After analyzing it, I think you’re ready to compete,” Mi Xue replied.

Yi Wei wanted to participate but hesitated. “I don’t want to embarrass you, Mom. You’ve built your reputation over so many years, and I don’t want to ruin it. Maybe I should wait until after I graduate.”

“Yi Wei,” Mi Xue said sternly, locking eyes with him, “your hesitation will be your greatest obstacle to progress. I want to see you grow more confident and never miss an opportunity to improve.”

Yi Wei froze for a moment under his adoptive mother’s gaze. His indecision vanished, replaced by a firm determination. “I won’t let you down, Mom.”

“I’ve already prepared all the necessary materials. You should review everything before the competition. You’ll be leaving in a few days,” Mi Xue said.

“Alright,” Yi Wei responded without a trace of hesitation.

Yi Wei then went to the company to tell Gu Yueshan about the competition and began preparing for his departure. The materials his adoptive mother had given him included past competition details, information not easily obtained by just anyone. However, Yi Wei knew that he wouldn’t be the only competitor with access to this information.

On the day of departure, Gu Yueshan drove Yi Wei to the airport.

Yi Wei kissed his baby over and over, feeling incredibly reluctant to leave. It was the first time he’d be apart from his child for such a long period. But since he was competing, he knew he couldn’t afford to be distracted, and it was safer for the baby to stay in the country.

Yi Wei told Gu Yueshan, “While I’m abroad, make sure to visit the Linjiang mansion from time to time. That way, when I return, maybe I can pretend to be pregnant.”

“I will,” Gu Yueshan replied, pulling Yi Wei into a hug and kissing him on the forehead. “Take care of yourself, and call me if anything comes up.”

“Mm,” Yi Wei nodded. He kissed the baby one more time before handing him to Gu Yueshan, then turned and quickly headed to board his flight.

Yi Wei flew abroad on Gu Yueshan’s private jet. Once aboard, he took out his phone, gazing at a photo of the three of them. He had only just left, but he already missed his partner and child deeply.
