PAGBWMH : Chapter 86

Finally Found

When Gu Yueshan appeared, Gu Yao immediately reached out for him to hold. Gu Yueshan took him into his arms.

“You little rascal.” Yi Wei lightly patted Gu Yao’s diapered bottom and complained to Gu Yueshan, “Your son can bite now! He bit Wei family’s chubby little face.”

“The one whose face looks like a bun?” Gu Yueshan asked.

“Yes.” Yi Wei nodded and lightly pinched his son’s small face. “You can’t go around biting someone’s chubby little face just because it looks like a bun and seems delicious. You naughty boy.”

Gu Yueshan gently pried Gu Yao’s lips apart to check his small teeth starting to come in. “Did he hurt him?”

“No.” Yi Wei said, “I checked carefully. There were no bite marks. He didn’t get a chance to use much force because I picked him up in time.”

Although Gu Yueshan and Wei Nanfeng were close friends, their child had just turned one month old. If Gu Yao had left a scar on their child’s face, no matter how good their relationship was, they would have felt deeply apologetic. They decided they must carefully watch and discipline their child from now on.

Gu Yueshan suddenly rubbed his forehead. Yi Wei noticed and asked worriedly, “Are you feeling unwell again?”

“Just a bit dizzy,” Gu Yueshan reassured him. “It’s nothing. I’ve felt this way before.”

“Mom said that before starting formal treatment, you could try aromatherapy to stabilize your emotions and calm your mind. It’s better than taking medicine. Let’s start today.” Yi Wei suggested.

“Alright.” Gu Yueshan agreed.

After Yi Xuan moved out, only Yi Bo occasionally visited him.

While they were having dinner together, Yi Xuan asked, “How’s the company? Has it improved?”

“Yes,” Yi Bo nodded. “It’s much better than before.”

“Is it because of Yi Wei?” Yi Xuan asked.

Yi Bo was silent for a moment before admitting, “As much as I don’t want to admit it, that’s the truth.”

“Yeah,” Yi Xuan said with a bitter smile. “Who else could or would help the Yi family? He’s legally married to Director Gu, and they’re in love. Whether he helps the Yi family or ruins it, it’s easy for him. People are just different. I guess this is what they call fate.”

“Do you still like Director Gu?” Yi Bo asked, looking at Yi Xuan.

“What does it matter if I do?” Yi Xuan’s eyes glistened with tears. “I know there’s no hope or possibility in this lifetime.”

“What about you and Gu Heng?” Yi Bo asked.

Yi Xuan shook his head. “I don’t know. Probably no chance either. I can feel that his heart isn’t with me anymore, and I don’t want to force myself.”

“That’s for the best. You’ll meet someone better,” Yi Bo said. He didn’t want Yi Xuan to get further involved.

“Someone better?” Yi Xuan sighed. “Where? When? Someone better than Director Gu? I probably won’t meet anyone like that in this lifetime.”

Yi Bo’s phone rang, and he got up. “I’ll take this call.”

Yi Xuan nodded, put down his chopsticks, and went to the restroom. On his way back, he overheard Yi Bo mentioning the name “Mi Wei” while standing near the window. He froze, full of confusion. Why did it seem like both Gu Heng and Yi Bo were involved with something related to Mi Wei?

When Yi Bo returned to the table, Yi Xuan asked, “You’re in contact with Mi Wei?”

Yi Bo was momentarily stunned, surprised that Yi Xuan had overheard his call. Assuming Yi Xuan had learned about Mi Wei from Gu Heng, he said, “I have no contact with Mi Wei. I wouldn’t be foolish enough to have dealings with Director Gu’s woman.”

Yi Xuan was shocked by Yi Bo’s words.

“In any case, don’t ask, don’t interfere, and don’t mention this to anyone. Understand?”

Yi Xuan nodded.

After Yi Bo left, Yi Xuan began thinking seriously. He speculated that Mi Wei must be the woman living in the luxury riverside mansion. But what exactly were Gu Heng and Yi Bo up to?

Two or three days later, at the Gu family’s western villa, Gu Heng, who had been waiting for Mi Wei to tell him her location, still hadn’t received any news. Both he and his family were growing increasingly anxious.

“She still hasn’t told you where she is?” Xu Hua asked with a frown.

Gu Heng hesitated before admitting, “She hasn’t replied to my messages for the past two days, no matter how much I ask. I’m not sure if something has happened to her.”

“We can’t keep waiting like this,” Xu Hua said, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. “We need to come up with a new plan.”

“Could it be that…my fourth uncle has already found her?” Gu Heng asked worriedly.

“If you consider the timing, the child should be due soon. Even if your fourth uncle found her, he couldn’t possibly force her to abort,” Xu Hua said. “Maybe she’s already given birth in the past two days and hasn’t had time to reply.”

“What should we do next?” Gu Heng asked.

“I need to think this through carefully,” Xu Hua replied, deep in thought.

Though Xu Hua knew they couldn’t continue like this, she couldn’t come up with a better solution. They couldn’t find Mi Wei’s location and were worried she might be hidden away by Gu Yueshan. They were stuck.

When Gu Heng went to school, he was visibly distracted and anxious.

Yi Xuan approached him and called out, “Gu Heng.”

Gu Heng glanced at him briefly before standing up and saying, “Sorry, I don’t have time right now.”

Hearing this, Yi Xuan felt upset. He hadn’t even said anything, and Gu Heng dismissed him, claiming to be busy, even though he didn’t seem to be doing anything. Annoyed, Yi Xuan retorted, “Are you busy waiting for Mi Wei’s call?”

Gu Heng froze, quickly glanced around, and then pulled Yi Xuan into a corner.

“What nonsense are you talking about?” Gu Heng asked in a low voice.

“I saw you contacting Mi Wei. You can deny it, but don’t involve my brother. Mi Wei belongs to Director Gu. Whatever you’re trying to do, if Director Gu finds out, neither of you can bear the consequences!” Yi Xuan, initially wanting to persuade Gu Heng calmly, became angry due to Gu Heng’s attitude and his own bottled-up frustrations.

Gu Heng was stunned by Yi Xuan’s words. Just as he was about to ask what Yi Xuan meant, his phone chimed. Seeing the notification, he left in a rush, leaving Yi Xuan standing there.

Gu Heng was both excited and nervous—Mi Wei had finally sent him her location. He immediately informed Xu Hua and wasted no time heading to the airport. He boarded a plane and flew overseas to the address Mi Wei had provided.

Shortly after Gu Heng’s departure, Yi Wei received a message from Yi Bo. The address in the message matched the one Yi Wei had fabricated with Deng Song.

Yi Wei thought, “Yi Bo’s information network is quite impressive. Who’s feeding him such accurate and timely details?”

After Gu Heng left, Yi Xuan stood frozen for a long time before leaving in a daze. He couldn’t shake a sense of unease, which made him restless and sleepless that night. The next day, he went to Yi Bo’s office to ask what was going on.

After hearing what Yi Xuan had done, Yi Bo froze completely.

“You…” Yi Xuan noticed Yi Bo’s strange expression and asked, “Brother, what’s wrong?”

“Did you really say those things to Gu Heng?” Yi Bo’s hands trembled.

“I…I did. Why?” Yi Xuan explained, “I just wanted to warn him not to provoke Director Gu. If he gets himself into trouble, that’s one thing, but I didn’t want him to drag you into it…”

“It’s not him dragging me in—it’s you!” Yi Bo yelled angrily. “Do you know you’ve put me in danger?!”

“What…what did I do?” Yi Xuan felt wronged and confused. Why was everyone yelling at him?

“Get out!” Yi Bo pointed to the office door. “Leave now. I don’t want to see you right now!”

“What did I do wrong? Tell me!” Yi Xuan cried, feeling utterly hurt. “Why is everyone treating me like this? What did I do that’s so unforgivable?”

“I can’t explain it now. Just leave and never mention Mi Wei or me to anyone again!” Yi Bo said, suppressing his anger.

Yi Xuan looked at Yi Bo for a moment before turning to leave. His heart felt cold. He had believed Yi Bo was the one person in the world who would always care for him unconditionally. He never wanted Yi Bo to be implicated because of Gu Heng. But now, even Yi Bo had changed.

Standing outside the office building, Yi Xuan looked up at the blinding sun. Yet, he felt no warmth or hope.

Meanwhile, Yi Bo paced his office, anxious and sweating. The more he panicked, the more his thoughts became muddled, leaving him unable to devise a good plan.

Gu Heng eventually arrived at the location. As he approached the house step by step, his heart raced. He couldn’t describe his feelings. Just thinking of Mi Wei’s face made his heart pound. He knew he shouldn’t have feelings for her, but emotions are hard to control.

Stopping at the door, he was about to press the doorbell when he noticed the door was slightly ajar. Surprised, he signaled for his companions to wait outside before gently pushing the door open and stepping inside.
